Brenda J. Butka (American, 20th/21st century)
Trestle, 2008
Oil painting on canvas
Signed to lower left I have always been a bit of a scribbler, but my art start really came in middle age with an adult education drawing class. Since then I have been scribbling in earnest, drawing and painting around the edges of a life filled with a career in pulmonary medicine, children, and a Nashville farm. I just try to react honestly and directly to the world around me, however I can—often drawing on the 3×5 cards in the pocket of my white coat during my workday, or sketching neighbors at the beach or in the airport.
